1. Who We Are

STEMliteracy.ai is operated by 21stCenturyEd ("we," "us," or "our"), the research and intellectual property organization behind STEM as the Third Core Literacy. Our mission is to bring STEM literacy to every classroom through the STEMbedding™ framework.

This policy applies to the STEMliteracy.ai website and the free tools hosted on it, including the STEMbedding Lesson Generator. For privacy terms related to the Pdgogy.ai instructional platform, please refer to the Pdgogy.ai Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to deliver the tools and resources you request, communicate with you about STEM literacy (only when you opt in), improve our website and tools based on aggregate usage patterns, and respond to your inquiries.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data with service providers (such as our email delivery partner) solely to operate our services, and these providers are contractually required to protect your data.

4. FERPA Compliance

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of student education records. STEMliteracy.ai is designed as a teacher-facing tool. The Lesson Generator does not collect, store, or process student education records, student names, or any data that would constitute a student's education record under FERPA.

If your school or district uses the Pdgogy.ai platform (which may handle student-level data), FERPA compliance for that platform is governed by the Pdgogy.ai Privacy Policy and any applicable data processing agreements with your district.

5. COPPA Compliance

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) restricts the collection of personal information from children under 13. STEMliteracy.ai is intended for use by educators, school leaders, and adult stakeholders — not by students directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

6. Data Retention and Security

We retain your email address and associated data for as long as you remain subscribed to our communications. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we will remove your information from our active mailing lists within 30 days.

We use industry-standard security measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls — to protect the data we collect. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, opt out of marketing communications at any time, and request information about how your data is used. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
